Reshetnikov spoke about the discussion of the launch of direct flights between Russia and Brazil.

The growth of mutual tourism between Russia and Brazil directly depends on the launch of direct flights, but breakthrough solutions in this area should not be expected in the near future. This was announced on February 5 by the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Reshetnikov during a visit to Brazil.

"The growth of tourism is always associated with direct flights, but now we have restrictions, including ports of call. We are discussing these issues with the Brazilian side in terms of their readiness and technical capabilities," Reshetnikov said.

According to the minister, today there are objective restrictions both on the part of Russian airlines and on infrastructural capabilities. The head of the Ministry of Economic Development stressed that, despite the difficulties, the issue of launching direct flights remains on the agenda of bilateral negotiations. At the same time, he urged not to rely on quick decisions.

Reshetnikov added that work on the development of tourist exchange should be continued now, despite transport restrictions. Russia intends to actively promote its tourism potential in the Brazilian market, as well as to acquaint Russian tourists with the possibilities of Brazil.

In particular, mutual exchanges are planned, the invitation of partners to participate in the "Travel to Russia" forum, as well as the orientation of Russian tour operators to the Brazilian destination. The Minister expressed confidence that the issue of direct flights between the two countries will be resolved in the future.
