Swiss Foreign Minister arrives in Moscow with OSCE Secretary General

On February 5, Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis flew to Moscow together with Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Feridun Sinirlioglu.

"After our visit to Ukraine, I arrived in Moscow today with Sinirlioglu. The dialogue requires the participation of all parties," the Swiss minister wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

He noted that this visit confirms the organization's readiness to act as a platform for dialogue to achieve peace in accordance with international law and the Helsinki Principles.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on February 2 that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov would hold talks with Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis in Moscow on Friday, February 6. Zakharova clarified that overcoming the OSCE crisis was on the agenda of the talks. The parties will discuss the restoration of military-political, economic, environmental and humanitarian security in Europe and the role of the organization in these processes.
