Four-wheel drive Gazelles and Sables have received an important safety system.

The Sobol NN 4x4 and Gazelle NN 4x4 vehicles received the directional stability control (ESC) system. This is stated in the message of the Modern Transport Technologies company (distributor of GAZ equipment), which was received by Izvestia on February 5.

Earlier, the manufacturer introduced this option on cars of the Gazelle Next, Gazelle NN and Sobol NN families with rear driving wheels. The ESC system includes a complex of active safety subsystems, which includes anti-lock and anti-slip systems, an emergency braking assistant, an electronic braking force distribution system and an assist system when starting to climb.

The company noted that when driving on slippery roads and diagonal suspension of the driving wheels, the ESC performs the function of simulating the locking mechanism of the inter-wheel differential, slowing down the slipping wheel.

Also, for all-wheel drive vehicles of the NN generation, a forced locking of the rear inter-wheel differential is available as an option, which improves the vehicle's maneuverability in severe road conditions.

At the end of December, it became known that the Nizhny Novgorod Motors plant had carried out a comprehensive modernization of 6-speed gearboxes, which are installed on low-tonnage Sobol NN and Gazelle NN trucks, medium-tonnage Valdai 8 trucks and Citymax 8 buses.
