Medinsky spoke about the return of captured militants to Ukraine
As part of the exchange, prisoners from the thousands of soldiers that Kiev had previously refused returned to Ukraine, Russian presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky said on February 5.
"Our guys have returned home, that's the main thing. On the Ukrainian side, there were prisoners from the thousand that Ukraine did not want to take. Also, five wounded were transferred from each side," the Russian presidential aide wrote on his Telegram channel.
Medinsky added that three civilians from the Kursk region who were being held hostage by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) had also returned.
On this day, the exchange of prisoners of war between the Russian Federation and Ukraine took place. 157 servicemen have been returned to Russia. Instead, 157 prisoners of war of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were transferred.
The returned Russian military personnel are in Belarus, they are being assisted.
