Carriers asked to reveal the final list of cars for taxis
The Public Council for Taxi Development has sent a letter to Anton Alikhanov, head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, with a request to publish the final list of cars allowed to work in a taxi as soon as possible. This was reported by Vedomosti on February 5.
According to Irina Zaripova, Chairman of the council, due to the lack of comprehensive information about the expanded list of localized cars, the effective development of the taxi business is under threat.
She noted that carriers and taxi companies "across the country are in a state of uncertainty," and this affects their ability to plan investments in fleet renewal, form financial and economic development models and ensure job preservation.
The law on the localization of taxi cars comes into force on March 1, 2026, but in some regions the new requirements will take effect later.
In October last year, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation published a primary list of cars that meet the requirements of the law on taxi localization, which will be operational from March 2026. It includes models of Lada, UAZ, Sollers, Moskvich, Evolute and Voyah brands. Later, the ministry clarified that the list is planned to be expanded, including models under the Haval and Tenet brands, as well as cars manufactured at Kaliningrad Avtotor.
Earlier, on January 28, Sollers announced the start of accepting orders for a new seven-seat passenger minivan Sollers SF1, its price starts from 2.25 million rubles. Sollers noted that the new model will be included in the list of vehicles approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation for work in taxis.
