In 2025, the activity of carsharing users in Russia was limited by the aggressive pricing policy of operators and excessive concentration on comfort-class cars, restrictions on the operation of the mobile Internet and geolocation services. The combination of these factors led to a general market trend towards a decrease in the number of trips, which was more actively observed in the second half of the year. The Delimobil carsharing operator told Izvestia about this on February 5.

According to the company's estimates, the carsharing market has maintained double-digit growth rates in monetary terms in 2025. The increase is mainly due to an increase in the price of a minute for most carsharing operators, despite the fact that the total number of transactions remained at the level of 2024. In late 2025 and early 2026, the average decrease in the total number of transactions in the carsharing market reached 25-30% compared to the same periods a year ago.

Delimobil representatives stressed that carsharing penetration in the country remains at a low level: about 3% in terms of users (4.4 million users from 146 million of the Russian population) compared to the maximum level, which is estimated at 25%, and about 0.2% in terms of the fleet (80 thousand carsharing cars from 50 million personal cars). The key prerequisites for business growth in the company are considered to be an increase in the cost of a taxi, the cost of buying (especially on credit) and maintaining your own car.

The company shared that they plan to focus on the segment of economy carsharing. Delimobil expects that by the end of 2025, revenue will grow by 11% year-on-year to 30.84 billion rubles, while the company's fleet at the end of last year amounted to 28 thousand units, a decrease of 12% compared to the same period last year.

Immediately, 42% of Moscow residents surveyed said they were not planning to buy a car in the foreseeable future. As noted on January 27, they cited the high cost of car ownership, rising parking and maintenance costs, as well as the development of urban transport infrastructure, including the metro, IDC and carsharing services, as the main reasons for refusing to purchase a car.
