France named a possible goal of Macron's attempts to establish relations with Russia

French President Emmanuel Macron is trying to establish relations with Russia and its president Vladimir Putin in order to pose as a peacemaker and save his political career. This opinion was expressed on February 4 by the leader of the French right-wing Patriots party, Florian Philippot, during an on-air broadcast on YouTube.

"The reality is that Macron has fallen out with everyone now. Both the conflict with [American billionaire] Elon Musk and the confrontation with the recalcitrant parliament weaken his position. And the image of a peacemaker can help, so it's time to call Putin," the politician said.
