The START Treaty expired on February 5
On Thursday, February 5, the Strategic Offensive Arms Reduction Treaty (START Treaty) between Russia and the United States was officially terminated.
The agreement, which affects the two countries with the largest nuclear weapons reserves, was concluded in 2011, and then extended for another five years in 2021.
