Zelensky estimated Ukraine's losses at 55,000 dead soldiers
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that since 2022, the country has lost 55,000 soldiers killed. This was reported on February 4 by the UNIAN news agency with reference to Zelensky's interview with the French TV channel France 2.
"In Ukraine, the official number of dead soldiers on the battlefield, whether personnel or mobilized, is 55,000," Zelensky said.
He also noted that there are "a large number of people whom Ukraine considers missing."
Earlier it was reported that, according to Zelensky, the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) since February 2022 amounted to 31 thousand people. On February 25, 2024, the Ukrainian president noted that it was difficult to name accurate data on the wounded and missing, and the military itself repeatedly pointed out a shortage of personnel and ammunition.
