The Treaty on Measures for the Further Reduction and Limitation of Strategic Offensive Arms (START Treaty) expires on Thursday, February 5, but Russia will be ready to take decisive countermeasures to ensure its national security. This was reported on February 4 on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
"The Russian Federation is always ready for decisive military-technical countermeasures in order to stop potential additional threats to national security. At the same time, our country remains open for the future to find political and diplomatic ways to comprehensively stabilize the strategic situation on the basis of equal and mutually beneficial dialogue solutions if appropriate conditions for such interaction are created," the Foreign Ministry said.
