In 2026, forest improvement works will be carried out in the Moscow region on an area of 6.5 thousand hectares. This was reported by the forestry Committee of the region.

Continuous sanitary logging will cover an area of 500 hectares. Selective sanitary logging will be carried out on another 1,000 hectares. Illiquid wood will be harvested on an area of 5,000 hectares. This is what the online publication Podmoskovye Segodnya writes about.

In addition, 4 thousand emergency trees will need to be cut down. Special attention is planned to be paid to areas along roads and near populated areas.
