The next stage of construction of the subway started in Chelyabinsk

The next stage of construction of the second metro tramway launch pit has begun in Chelyabinsk. These works are the main ones, Mosproekt-3 Group of Companies reported in its Telegram channel on Wednesday, February 4.

"Mosproekt-3 Group of Companies has begun key work on the construction of a launch pit for the launch of two more tunnel complexes of the North–South line," the report says.

Work is underway in the Kalininsky district, where the reconstruction of tram tracks necessary for the further construction of the metro was recently completed. From the excavation pit, which has now begun to be equipped, the tunneling starts from the station "Kosareva Street" towards the station "Shopping Center".

According to the <url> news agency, the length of the excavation will be 70 m, depth — up to 10 m, variable width — up to 17 m. The builders will remove more than 9 thousand cubic meters of soil during the work. After that, the installation of tunneling complexes will begin.

The main stage of construction of the subway in Chelyabinsk started in September 2024. The length of the first North–South line will be more than 9 km. The project involves the construction of two underground stations "Revolution Square" and "Shopping Center" in the center, as well as ground stations "Ovchinnikova Street", "Kosareva Street" and "Kaslinskaya Street".
