A new non-metallic deposit has been discovered in Stavropol
A new deposit of non-metallic minerals has been discovered in Stavropol. The mining site contains a boulder-sand-gravel mixture, the press service of the regional Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment reports.
We are talking about the Barsukovsky-2 facility in the Kochubeyevsky district. The Scientific and Technical Council of the department recommended that the territory be included in the draft list of subsurface areas of local importance.
According to the StavropolMedia news agency, the procedure will pave the way for licensing and the start of exploration work. In the future, the site will be used for the legitimate extraction of minerals necessary for the construction industry in the region.
Earlier, Izvestia reported that during 2025, 251 new facilities with reserves of solid mineral resources were identified in Russia. The most noticeable dynamics was noted in the coal sector.
