Norwegian skier evacuated by helicopter from Olympic training
Norwegian alpine skier Fredrik Moeller was urgently evacuated by helicopter after falling during training before the downhill competition at the Olympic Games. This was reported on February 4 by the Norwegian TV channel NRK.
According to the TV channel, the athlete suffered a shoulder injury and is conscious.
This is the second time in recent months that Meller has been hospitalized by helicopter. In December 2025, he suffered various bruises and lost two teeth after falling at the World Cup in Val Gardena, Italy.
American alpine skier Lindsey Vonn was injured on January 30 during a downhill at the World Cup in Crans-Montana, Switzerland. During the descent in poor visibility conditions, Vonn lost control after jumping, flew off the track and hit the safety net. She was later evacuated from the mountain by helicopter.
