Released from Myanmar, she told the story of getting into a fraudulent call center
Madina, who was released from Myanmar on February 4, told Izvestia how she got into a fraudulent call center, where she was held against her will.
"I was promised a modeling job. Before that, I worked in China, in Lipsticks, in show ballet. I met someone, and today one-time part-time jobs at photo shoots of various goods are quite popular in China. And I was also promised that I would be a representative of a company selling certain goods in this hotel," Madina said.
According to her, after arriving in Myanmar, the recruiter stopped contacting her, and the girl herself was forced to work in a call center under round-the-clock supervision. She noted that the center contains dozens, if not hundreds of Russian-speaking people from Russia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
According to Madina, forced laborers were beaten daily, tasers were used, and some were even killed. Their phones were checked regularly, and Internet access was only monitored to inform relatives that "everything is fine."
On the same day, it became known that the released girl was regularly beaten and starved. It was noted that the 21-year-old girl and her family had loans and debts, for which she was looking for a job. She spent about three months in the fraudulent call center.
The day before, the Russian Embassy announced the release of the girl. According to the diplomatic mission, she was rescued by the joint efforts of diplomats, Thai and Myanmar police. They added that the released Russian woman was forcibly transported to Myanmar and involved in illegal activities in an illegal call center.
Prior to that, the Russian Embassy reported that three Russians had been abducted in Myanmar, presumably for forced labor in fraudulent call centers.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, in turn, said that diplomats are doing everything possible and necessary to return the abducted Russians from Myanmar. According to her, Russian diplomats have already managed, in cooperation with Myanmar's law enforcement agencies, to rescue one Russian citizen from such a center and return home.
