A bail of 10 million hryvnias ($233 thousand) was made for the former head of the border service of Ukraine, Sergei Deineko, accused of corruption. This was reported by the Ukrainska Pravda newspaper on February 4.
"For the ex-head of the state border service, Lieutenant General Sergei Deineko, suspected of involvement in cigarette smuggling, a bail of 10 million hryvnias (about $ 233 thousand - Ed.), determined by the court, was posted. The bail was paid on February 2 by another person," the article says.
It is noted that bail was not paid for another person involved in the case, it amounted to 2 million hryvnias ($46.6 thousand). It is not specified who posted the bail for the ex-head of the border service.
On January 9, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on amendments to the composition of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's headquarters.
