More than 10 new models appeared on the Russian car market in January

In January 2026, the Russian car market recorded the debut of 13 new models, including seven passenger cars. This was reported on February 4 by the analytical agency Autostat.

For example, among passenger car models, the GAC Aion UT electric hatchback, Geely Galaxy Starshine 6 and Roewe M7 hybrid sedans, Jetta VS8 and MG RX9 crossovers, as well as another Voyah Taishan hybrid SUV, which will officially go on sale in the future, were included in sales statistics in Russia for the first time. The eighth model was the UMO 5 electric crossover from Yandex.

Four new products have been registered in the LCV light commercial vehicle segment: the Junfeng K33 and Sollers SF5 all-metal vans, the Ruichi EC75 electric van and the Wuling Sunshine minibus. It is noteworthy that Sollers announced the start of production of Sollers SF5 at the Alabuga plant back in June last year. For the first time in statistics, GAZ Sadko 9 and Wanshan WS1181GJB5 were noted among cargo models.

Compared to December, the number of new models in the passenger segment has halved. In the last month of last year, 19 new cars were registered, including one LCV and four trucks.

On this day, it was reported that by the end of January 2026, 80.6 thousand new passenger cars were sold in Russia, which is 9.5% less than in the same month of 2025. Seven models of domestic car brands entered the top 10 bestsellers of the Russian market in January 2026.
