Deliveries of serial Tu-214 aircraft are planned to begin in 2029.
Representatives of the State Transport Leasing Company (JSC GTLC), the Russian holding company specializing in air transportation, S7 Group, and the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) signed a cooperation agreement under which the parties will supply and accept 100 medium-range Tu-214 aircraft adapted to the S7 Airlines operating model in 2029, respectively. Relevant documents attest to this on February 4.
"The document <...> confirms the intention of the parties to supply 100 medium-range Tu—214 aircraft, including aircraft with enhanced performance characteristics adapted to the operating model of S7 Airlines," TASS cites the contents of the text.
At the same time, GLTK, as emphasized, will become a financial partner and customer, and S7 Group will commit itself to ensuring the full cycle of operation of the airliners, including their engineering support, maintenance and training of specialists for this purpose, both flight crews and ground personnel.
It is noted that up to 213 passengers will be able to travel on one such board in the future.
On the same day, the press service of the Russian state corporation Rostec reported on the 150-hour tests successfully completed by the domestic PD-8 engine, which is intended for the Superjet-100 aircraft as part of import substitution. As it was emphasized, the tests were conducted by the UAC, which tested the development at different pressure levels — maximum and minimum.
