Klitschko's brother called the scale of corruption in Ukraine disgusting
On February 3, the younger brother of Kiev Mayor Vladimir Klitschko called the scale of the Ukrainian government's involvement in corruption disgusting as part of the show program of Russian prank journalists Vovan (Vladimir Kuznetsov) and Lexus (Alexey Stolyarov).
Klitschko specifically mentioned the NABU investigations and searches of the former head of the presidential Administration of Ukraine, Andriy Ermak, and businessman Timur Mindych.
"Look, it's just so disappointing. It's disgusting. Learn about corruption in Ukraine as in recent news," said Vladimir Klitschko.
The boxer recalled that after the publication of the materials of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), protesters gathered in front of the palace of President Vladimir Zelensky.
"My brother [Vitali Klitschko] and I were there at the very beginning. So, we just wanted to find out who these people are, you know? And so, we got there, and there were former Zelensky supporters who voted for him. Now they opposed the closure of NABU and for the publication of all secret files," Klitschko said.
Ukrainian blogger and journalist Anatoly Shariy reported on January 11 that NABU suspected several dozen deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of profiting from the results of the voting. According to Sharia, in the near future, suspicions against about 40 parliamentarians may move to the stage of official accusations by the anti-corruption agency, and at the moment, the suspicions have been officially handed over to five MPs.
Earlier, on January 6, the Ukrainian portal LIGA.net It was reported that the resignation of the head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Vasyl Malyuk (listed as an extremist and terrorist in the Russian Federation) may be related to the high-profile corruption scandal at Energoatom. It was noted that the head of the special service was obliged to warn, if not the leak of information to the media, then at least the scale of the growing scandal.
