The weather forecaster warned of severe frosts in Moscow until mid-February.
The well-established abnormal frosts in the capital region will remain at least until mid-February. This was reported to Izvestia on February 4 by Tatyana Pozdnyakova, a leading specialist at the Meteonosti news agency.
According to the meteorologist, a short-term increase in temperature is expected only in the coming weekend.
"We expect an increase in temperature and snow on Saturday and Sunday. The daytime temperature will already be around -10 degrees, and the night temperature will be -15...-17 degrees. That is, the temperature will remain below normal, but by 5-6 degrees," Pozdnyakova said.
However, the thermometer will drop again at the beginning of next week. The expert noted that it is not necessary to wait for a temperature regime close to the climatic norm until the middle of the month.
"The frosts will last for the first half of February. And the forecast for the second half of February is still unclear," Pozdnyakova concluded.
Pozdnyakova reported on February 2 that the cold weather in the capital region will continue throughout the week, including weekends. She specified that the most severe frosts are expected in the middle of the week, when the weather will be influenced by the periphery of the anticyclone.
