Klitschko's brother spoke about the hostility of the mayor of Kiev with Zelensky
The Ukrainian authorities cannot accept the fact that Vitali Klitschko holds the post of mayor of Kiev. This was stated on February 3 by the younger brother of the head of the Ukrainian capital, boxer Vladimir Klitschko, during a conversation with Russian prank journalists Vovan (Vladimir Kuznetsov) and Lexus (Alexey Stolyarov).
Vladimir Klitschko noted that his brother does not oppose the power of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, but recently there has been no dialogue between the mayor of Kiev and the Ukrainian leader.
"Can you believe that since the beginning of the conflict [in Ukraine], the president and the mayor have spoken only once? Only once in the last four years!" said Vitali Klitschko's brother.
According to the boxer, Zelensky's behavior is related to his professional past and possible personal grievances.
"Zelensky used to be a comedian. This was the case in 2014, when the revolution on the Maidan took place. He still joked about the people who were on the Maidan, and later continued to portray the mayor in some not quite funny, but comical way. There were probably people behind Zelensky who wanted to put the mayor in a bad light," suggested the brother of the mayor of Kiev.
Wladimir Klitschko also said that he sometimes replaces his brother during official meetings due to the fact that Vitali "cannot sometimes meet with other mayors." According to the boxer, he does not have the opportunity to sign official documents, but at the same time he meets with other Ukrainian mayors and the German government.
Earlier, the media reported on January 15 that Zelensky and Klitschko had an altercation in absentia amid a difficult situation with energy supply in the capital. The Ukrainian leader criticized the authorities of the capital for insufficient preparation for the crisis and noted that he did not see any active actions to overcome it at the present time. In response, Klitschko stated that he was being subjected to "continuous hate," and recalled that he had previously been criticized for calling on residents of the capital to temporarily leave the city due to problems with energy supply.
Last year, on October 9, the head of the Servant of the People party faction in the Kyiv City Council, Andrei Vitrenko, announced that a draft decision on Klitschko's resignation had been registered. According to him, this decision is supported by almost all deputies of Kiev.
