In 2026, Avtozavod Saint Petersburg plans to produce 8,000 Lada Iskra vehicles in 2026. This was reported on February 4 by Autostat with reference to the company's press service.

Serial production of Lada Iskra at the St. Petersburg plant, which previously produced Nissan and then Xcite cars, began in September 2025. By the end of December, the plant produced 3,000 copies of Iskra.

Lada Iskra assembly kits come to Avtozavod Saint Petersburg, which include a painted body, and separately — the power unit, interior elements, chassis and other components. There are about 1 thousand assembly units in total.

Production operations are carried out on the conveyor for the installation of sound insulation, instrument panel, seat belts, ESP, interior upholstery and trunk, the engine and front suspension are reassembled, bumpers, wheels, moldings are mounted. The assembled, refilled, and configured vehicle rolls off the assembly line to the quality inspection line.

The day before, sales of the Lada Vesta CNG dual-fuel sedan started in Russia. Such a car can run on both gasoline and methane, and travel over 1,000 km without stopping to refuel. The price of the new product starts from 1.88 million rubles (1.52 million rubles with state subsidy).
