Dmitriev posted a photo of Abu Dhabi before the upcoming negotiations on Ukraine
On February 4, Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and special representative of the President of Russia for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, posted a photo of Abu Dhabi, where the next round of negotiations between Russia, the United States and Ukraine on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict will take place.
In a post on the Instagram social network (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist in Russia and banned), the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund showed a photo from an airplane where the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is visible.
The meeting of the countries' representatives will take place in Abu Dhabi on February 4-5.
The day before, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted that the Russian delegation to Abu Dhabi, as last time, would be headed by the head of the Main Directorate of the General Staff (GRU) of the Russian Armed Forces, Admiral Igor Kostyukov.
On the same day, White House press Secretary Caroline Leavitt announced that US President Donald Trump's special envoy Stephen Witkoff and the American leader's son-in-law, businessman Jared Kushner, would take part in talks with Russia in Abu Dhabi on February 4. According to her, the American leader seeks to make the "impossible possible" and achieve a settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.
Peskov announced on February 2 that the second round of trilateral talks between Russia, the United States and Ukraine was scheduled for February 4-5. He also noted that the schedules of the three sides needed to be joined to approve the date.
