Supporters of the deceased son of former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, Saif al-Islam, said that his murder deprives the country of a chance for a peaceful settlement of the internal conflict. This was reported on February 4 by the RIA Novosti news agency, citing a statement from the political bureau.

"The murder of a political figure of this magnitude is a murder of all the possibilities of peace and stability in Libya, the perpetrators will be punished," the document says.

On February 3, the Libya al-Ahrar TV channel reported the murder of the son of the former head of Libya in the south of the state during a military attack. No details of the incident were reported.
