A resident of Yakutia will stand trial for fraud of 300 million rubles.
The Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) has approved a criminal indictment against a 56-year-old businessman who attempted to commit fraud in the amount of 300 million rubles. This was reported on February 4 on the website of the prosecutor's office in the region.
It is noted that in the capital of the Yakutsk region in 2018-2019, the accused concluded several lease agreements for administrative buildings with the director of one of the commercial organizations. The premises were supposed to be sublet later.
"In 2020, the accused, having learned of the landlord's intention to terminate the lease relationship with him, organized the production of fictitious additional agreements, where, among other things, under the lease agreement for the building on Lenin Avenue, he prescribed the right to buy it out after the expiration of the contract at the expense of previously made lease payments, indicating a deliberately underestimated amount of 54 million rubles, then as its market value was 300 million rubles," the agency found out.
At the same time, the second agreement was supposed to extend the term for another 20 years. After that, the attacker tried to formalize ownership of the property through an appeal to the court and the Federal Register. Upon learning about such actions, the rightful owner of the premises turned to law enforcement for help.
It is reported that the criminal case sent to the court for consideration on the merits was investigated by the Investigative Unit for the investigation of organized criminal activities of the Investigative Department (SU) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the region. A 56-year-old man is charged under Part 3 of Article 30, Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Attempted fraud committed on an especially large scale").
