Moiseev noted that really effective bleaching systems contain peroxides. In professional systems, the dosage of such elements is selected by the doctor. At the same time, in freely available kits, the set parameters may be too aggressive to use at home.

"Materials that are not certified for medical use may contain substances harmful to the tooth pulp and the body as a whole. Improperly applied material can cause a chemical or thermal burn of the neurovascular bundle, which will lead to the need for complex and expensive canal treatment," the expert said.
