A logging truck driver who shot down three children is awaiting trial in the Khabarovsk Territory

In the Khabarovsk Territory, the investigation of the criminal case of a logging truck hitting three children has been completed, one of whom died and two were injured. This is reported by the regional prosecutor's office.

The hit-and-run occurred in May 2025 on Tsentralnaya Street in the village of Georgievka. According to the investigation, a 44-year-old resident of the Lazo district, driving a loaded Mercedes-Benz logging truck, lost control and pulled over to the side of the road.

A car hit three children who were walking along the roadway in the same direction. A nine-year-old boy died on the spot before the ambulance arrived, a ten-year-old girl suffered a severe head injury and was undergoing long-term treatment, and a third boy was slightly injured.

The investigation of the criminal case under Part 3 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Violation of traffic rules that negligently caused the death of a person" has been completed. The materials were submitted to the court for consideration on the merits.

According to IA AmurMedia, the truck driver admitted his guilt. According to the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the maximum sanction of the article imputed to him provides for up to five years in prison.
