Iran has demanded that negotiations with the United States be postponed from Turkey to Oman on February 6. This was reported on February 3 by the Axios portal, citing sources.

"If the new demands disrupt Friday's talks, they risk pushing the president [of the United States Donald] Trump's transition from the diplomatic path to the military option," the article says.

The portal also reports that Iran now intends to hold talks with the United States in a bilateral format, without the participation of observers from Arab countries.

Iran has previously indicated its readiness to make a deal with the United States by suspending or completely shutting down its nuclear program. It is noted that Tehran would prefer the proposal to create a regional consortium for the production of nuclear energy, put forward by the United States last year. On Friday, February 6, a meeting of senior American and Iranian officials will take place in Istanbul for talks aimed at de-escalating the crisis between the countries, the sources told the publication.

On February 2, it was reported about the negotiations between Witkoff and Araqchi on Iran's nuclear program. It was noted that the meeting could become part of attempts to resume dialogue between Washington and Tehran amid ongoing tensions over Iran's nuclear program.
