The personal archives of the tandem of Pakhmutova and Dobronravov have replenished the fund of the Russian State Library

On February 3, the personal archives of People's Artist of the USSR Alexandra Pakhmutova and songwriter Nikolai Dobronravov joined the collection of the Russian State Library (RSL). The archives will now be kept in the Pashkov house.

"What has long been de facto history is becoming de jure history. There are notes written by Alexandra Pakhmutova, next to them are poems by Nikolai Dobronravov, and manuscripts. The unique documents of the epoch, or rather several epochs at once, are our golden fund," said Igor Baldin, a correspondent for Izvestia.

The collection includes dozens of pages with manuscripts of famous songs, including "Belovezhskaya Pushcha", "Nadezhda" and "Tenderness". Over 67 years of collaboration, the duo has created more than 400 works, many of which have become an integral part of the country's history, reflecting key events — from Yuri Gagarin's flight to the construction of BAM, Bratskaya GRES, the construction of which Dobronravov and Pakhmutova watched with their own eyes.

"We went, then remember, there was Bratsk. It is very interesting. New people, young people, good people. I'll remember it forever," Pakhmutova said.

Now Pakhmutova continues to work, creating suites and music for ballet. The transferred archives will become part of the national cultural heritage, accessible to future generations.

The Russian leader noted that Pakhmutova's songs reflect pages of the history of the Russian Federation and the fate of entire generations. According to him, the composer's melodies give rise to bright feelings in the hearts of Russians, give joy and hope.
