As a result of an attack by a teenager with a toy machine gun and a knife on a gymnasium in Ufa, a teacher suffered a facial injury. This was announced on February 3 by the press service of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Bashkortostan.

"The teacher suffered bodily injury in the form of an abrasion on his face. There are no other victims," the department's Telegram channel says.

According to investigators, the ninth-grader detonated a firecracker in the hallway of the school before the attack, after which he entered the classroom where the lesson was already taking place, and fired a toy machine gun into the teacher's face, as well as towards classmates. After that, he left the room and detonated several more firecrackers.

The Investigative Committee explains that the children's automatic rifle used by the teenager is similar in design to an air gun. Investigators examined the scene of the incident and conducted interrogations.

An attack by a ninth-grader on a gymnasium was reported earlier that day. He brought a small kitchen knife and a toy machine gun to school. The student fired several shots at the teacher, three classmates and detonated a firecracker. As a result of the incident, he was detained. During the interrogation, the teenager said that he did not want to harm anyone, but was only going to scare his peers and teachers.

Criminal cases have been opened on attempted murder and negligence after the shooting at an educational institution in Ufa. At the same time, a student at the school told Izvestia that the teenager had planned the attack in advance, and he had announced his intentions on social media at night.

According to the students of the gymnasium, the attacked teenager rarely communicated with classmates. Ufa Mayor Ratmir Mavliev admitted that bullying by peers could have been the reason for the attack. The head of Bashkiria, Radiy Khabirov, warned that the gymnasium's management would be dismissed if the fact of bullying a student was confirmed.
