Murmansk resident to pay 150 thousand rubles for dog attack on child

The Kovdor court in the Murmansk region ordered a local resident to pay compensation for moral damage to the family of a child who was attacked by her dog. The amount of compensation will be 150 thousand rubles.

According to the Bi-port news agency, with reference to the regional prosecutor's office, the attack took place in August 2025 in the courtyard of the house. As a result of the incident, the girl was forced to undergo long-term treatment and did not attend school. The Court found that the child was experiencing not only physical, but also great moral suffering.

The prosecutor's office filed a lawsuit to recover compensation in the amount of 150 thousand rubles. The requirements of the supervisory authority were satisfied. The money was recovered from the owner of the attacked dog.

Earlier it was reported that the court of Nikolaevsk-on-Amur recovered 1 million rubles from the city administration in favor of a 10-year-old girl who was attacked by stray dogs. In February 2025, a girl was attacked by a pack of dogs. The child was injured, and the treatment lasted a long time. The TFR has opened a criminal case under the article "Negligence".
