Over the past day, 208 road accidents have occurred on Russian roads, in which 27 people were killed and 237 injured. 20 of the dead were drivers and passengers. This was reported to Izvestia on February 3 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

In the Orenburg region, in the evening, on 367 km of the federal highway M-5 Ural, a 25-year-old truck driver drove into the oncoming lane, where he hit a road fence, after which he collided with two other trucks. The culprit of the collision was killed, and both drivers of the other trucks involved in the accident were sent for outpatient treatment after receiving medical attention. Before eliminating the consequences of the car accident, traffic on this section of the road was temporarily stopped for an hour and a half in both directions, and traffic police officers organized a detour.

24 accidents involving buses were recorded, in which six people were killed, and 32 more road users, including six children, needed medical help. The reason for 13 bus accidents were traffic violations committed by drivers of other vehicles.

For example, in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, on 965 km of the federal highway R-255 Siberia, in the evening, a 49-year-old truck driver towing a residential trailer unit on a rigid coupling allowed the trailer to drive into the oncoming lane, where it collided with a bus carrying 12 passengers. After the collision, the bus overturned on the roadway. Five bus passengers were killed in the accident, and seven more were hospitalized with injuries. Traffic on the highway R-255 "Siberia" from 965 to 966 km was temporarily stopped for the whole night, vehicles were allowed to detour.

As a result of 67 road accidents, 41 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and 27 outside their area of operation, seven pedestrians were killed, and 67 more were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured were 18 underage pedestrians, 13 of whom were injured while crossing the roadway in designated areas.

26 accidents involving minors were also registered, in which 27 young road users, including nine passengers, were injured. One child, a passenger in a passenger car, was killed.

In the Republic of Tatarstan, on 947 km of the M-7 Volga federal highway, a 32-year-old motorist ran over a truck parked on the right side of the road, and the 58-year-old driver stopped shortly before to clean the wipers from the snow. The six-month-old daughter of the car driver, who was in the back seat in a child restraint with a seat belt, died in an accident. Another passenger in the car was hospitalized with injuries.

"The State Traffic Inspectorate draws the attention of motorists: in winter, you should be extremely careful when driving, avoid sudden reckless maneuvers and realignments on roads slippery with snow or ice, observe the interval and distance, choose the speed of movement taking into account the actual weather conditions," said the head of the Department of road safety promotion and prevention of children's road accidents.Police Colonel Sergey Hrantskevich suffered from traffic injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

The ministry recalled that in conditions of insufficient visibility, it is necessary to move with external lighting devices turned on, it is mandatory to use fog lights (if any), and during precipitation, reduce speed as much as possible and move with the alarm lights on.

In January, it became known that Moscow had broken its own historical record for road safety. The number of deaths in road accidents per 100,000 population (the social risk level) decreased by the end of 2025 to 2.22 units, said Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of the capital for transport.
