In Ukraine, they called the return of all territories the only way to peace

Russia's transfer of territories under Kiev's control is the only possible way to a peaceful settlement of the conflict. This opinion was expressed on February 2 by the former Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States, Valery Chaly.

"The only true way to peace is not to encourage further territorial claims," he wrote on Facebook (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist in Russia).

Chaly added that this is possible only thanks to "Russia's withdrawal from the territories of Ukraine."

The Russian Foreign Ministry recalled that the cessation of violations of the rights of Russian speakers and the UOC is also one of the key conditions for a settlement.

On January 20, Verkhovna Rada deputy Dmitry Razumkov pointed out Ukraine's inability to return to the 1991 borders by force. According to him, the country's president, Vladimir Zelensky, independently changed the rhetoric on this initiative. At the same time, the issue of 1991 borders was previously considered in peace plans.
