Demand for truck and bus driving training has increased in Russia
In the first two months of this winter, the number of requests for driving training increased by 9% compared to the same period of the previous winter season. The most noticeable growth was recorded in the segment of training commercial and cargo transport drivers, Avito Services experts told Izvestia on February 3.
Among the additional programs, classes at specialized race tracks have become leaders — the demand for them has tripled. High—speed maneuvering training has become more popular by 46%, and emergency driving by 16%. The demand for theoretical courses increased by 15%, for a full practical course — by 13%, and interest in practicing parking skills increased by 10%.
At the beginning of the winter season, Russians were much more interested in learning how to drive buses: the demand for such courses increased 4 times, and for programs with a DE category (which gives the right to drive buses with an accordion) — by 91%, analysts estimated. Cargo areas also showed high dynamics: C category transport management training has doubled in demand, and in the CE category (which gives the right to drive trucks with trailers and semi-trailers with a permissible weight exceeding 750 kg), demand has increased fourfold, experts said.
In addition, among the passenger categories, the most noticeable increase was in interest in driving ATVs and tricycles of category B1 — by 26%, as well as motorcycles of category A1 — by 97%. Category A gained 47% compared to last winter, while the demand for driving instruction in category B cars increased by 6%. In addition, interest in obtaining tractor driver's rights increased by 78%, and in the M category (which gives the right to drive mopeds, scooters, scooters and light quadricycles with limited technical characteristics) - by 21%. As for the training format, group classes proved to be more popular than individual ones: demand for them increased by 45% versus 13%.
Earlier, on January 21, it was reported that the new rules for training in driving schools will come into force on March 1, 2026, among them a distance learning format for theory and an increase in the duration of driving instruction. Changes in the course of first aid in case of an accident will be carried out, rules for interaction with road users on electric scooters will be introduced.
