Iran is ready to settle the deal with the United States by suspending or completely shutting down its nuclear program. This was reported on February 3 by The New York Times newspaper, citing officials.

"To calm the situation, two officials said, Iran is ready to close or suspend its nuclear program, which is a major concession," the material says.

It is noted that Tehran would prefer the proposal to create a regional consortium for the production of nuclear energy, put forward by the United States last year. On Friday, February 6, a meeting of senior American and Iranian officials will take place in Istanbul for talks aimed at de-escalating the crisis between the countries, the sources told the publication.

"The purpose of the talks is to bring together the special envoy of the President [of the United States Donald] Trump's Middle East adviser Steve Witkoff; Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner; and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi. High—ranking officials from Turkey, Qatar and Egypt are also expected to participate," the article says.

On February 2, the Axios portal reported on the negotiations between Witkoff and Araqchi on Iran's nuclear program. It was noted that the meeting could become part of attempts to resume dialogue between Washington and Tehran amid ongoing tensions over Iran's nuclear program.
