US President Donald Trump plans to create a critical reserve of minerals worth $12 billion. This was reported by Bloomberg on February 2.

"Trump is preparing to launch a strategic reserve of critical minerals with $12 billion in seed capital to protect producers from supply shocks while the United States seeks to reduce dependence on Chinese rare earths and other metals," the publication said.

It is noted that this project, called Project Vault, can combine $ 1.67 billion of private capital with a loan of $ 10 billion from the Export-Import Bank of the United States for the purchase and storage of minerals for automakers, technology companies and other manufacturers.
