The 42nd President of the United States, Bill Clinton, and his wife, Hillary, decided to testify in the case of Jeffrey Epstein, an American financier accused of molesting minors. This was reported on February 2 by The New York Times (NYT).

"Bill and Hillary Clinton on Monday agreed to testify in the investigation of the House Oversight Committee in the case of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein," the publication says.

It is noted that this decision was a concession to the demands of the head of the oversight committee, James Comer.

A committee of the House of Representatives of the US Congress has set the dates for Bill and Hillary Clinton to testify in the case of financier Jeffrey Epstein on January 13 and 14, respectively. The head of the oversight committee, James Comer, noted that earlier the Clintons' lawyer had said that they could not appear for questioning this week, but refused to offer alternative dates.

It later became known that the Clintons decided not to come to Congress to testify in the Epstein case.

Subsequently, on January 22, they were held accountable for disrespect and failure to appear for questioning after issuing summonses.
