Rospotrebnadzor urged to wear a mask to protect against smallpox monkeys

In order not to get infected with monkey pox when communicating with people who have arrived from the countries where this disease is spreading and have the appropriate symptoms, it is necessary to wear a mask and observe hand hygiene. This was announced by the press service of Rospotrebnadzor on Monday, February 2.

Rospotrebnadzor clarified that Africa remains the epicenter of the spread of the disease.

"To prevent the disease, it is necessary to carefully observe the rules of personal hygiene. When contacting people who have arrived from countries where cases of the disease have been recorded and who feel unwell, it is necessary to follow the basic preventive rules — to use a mask and observe hand hygiene," the Moscow City News agency quotes the message.

The most common way of transmitting the disease is through close physical contact with a person who has symptoms, the agency concluded.

Earlier that day, Rospotrebnadzor specialists identified people who had contact with a man infected with monkey pox. Medical supervision was organized for possible infected people, according to the website. kp.ru .

It is noted that people were placed in isolation. If they show symptoms of a dangerous disease, they will receive the necessary assistance, writes "Moscow 24".

Maxim Zabelin, Vice Governor of the Moscow Region and Minister of Health of the region, announced earlier on February 2 that a patient with confirmed monkeypox in the region was in a moderate condition.

Later, on February 1, Rospotrebnadzor announced that an epidemiological investigation was underway in connection with the hospitalization of a person with suspected monkeypox in the Moscow region, and on the same day, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Deputy President of the Russian Academy of Education Gennady Onishchenko urged citizens not to be afraid of this disease.
