Air defense forces shot down 12 drones over Belgorod and Kursk regions

The Air Defense Forces destroyed 12 drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in five hours over the Belgorod and Kursk regions. This was announced on February 2 by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

"In the period from 15:00 to 20:00 Moscow time, 12 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles of an airplane type were destroyed by air defense systems on duty," the department's channel in the MAX messenger said.

The Ministry of Defense explained that the largest number of drones was shot down in the sky over the Belgorod region — nine units. The remaining three UAVs were intercepted in the Kursk region.

Earlier in the day, the Russian military reported that air defense systems destroyed 15 UAVs over the Belgorod, Kursk and Bryansk regions from 11:00 to 15:00 Moscow time. It was noted that 12 drones were destroyed over the Belgorod region, two over the Kursk region and one over the Bryansk region.
