The St. Petersburg City Court intends to consider the lawsuits of the Ministry of Justice regarding the recognition of the Russian LGBT Network organization as extremist (the LGBT movement itself has already been recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation) and ban it on the territory of Russia. This was announced on February 2 by the joint press service of the city courts.

"The St. Petersburg City Court has registered two administrative claims filed by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region," the courts' Telegram channel says.

One of the lawsuits concerns the Russian LGBT Network movement. In another document, the Ministry of Justice asks to apply similar norms to the St. Petersburg LGBT initiative group "Exit" - to recognize the association as extremist and ban its activities in Russia.

The press service clarifies that both meetings will be held behind closed doors, as both lawsuits are classified.

In addition, on January 28, the press service of Roskomnadzor informed Izvestia that the reason for blocking the website of the online anime encyclopedia Shikimori.one was LGBT propaganda (the international movement is recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation and banned). The agency added that the resource distributed content promoting non-traditional sexual relations.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
