The doctor indicated the time of walking in the cold without harm to health
General practitioner Nadezhda Chernyshova told how much you can walk in the cold without harm to your health.
In conversation with aif.ru On Monday, February 2, she noted that the duration of walks directly depends on the air temperature. According to her, at -15 degrees you can stay outside for 40-60 minutes, at -20 — no more than 15-20 minutes, and at -25 degrees and below it is better to give up walking. She noted that it is not recommended to go out in the cold if a person feels unwell.
The doctor noted that only completely healthy people should walk in cold weather. Chernyshov also talked about proper preparation for going outside: the face must be lubricated with a special protective cream 30-60 minutes before going out, so that the product has time to absorb and effectively protect the skin.
In addition, the specialist warned that alcohol should not be consumed before walking in the cold, as it increases heat dissipation and increases the risk of frostbite.
On January 30, Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of the Russian Federation, warned in an interview with NSN that frosts of up to -25 degrees are expected in Moscow and the region. The week will be frosty, the cold will recede only closer to the weekend. He also urged not to wait for early spring: March is still a traditional winter month in terms of snow and temperatures.
On the same day, an "orange" weather hazard level was declared in Moscow and the Moscow region until February 3 due to abnormal cold.
On January 22, doctors of the childhood clinic called for refusing to walk with a child in the cold. If it is necessary to get out, experts advise to meet the deadline in 10-15 minutes, according to 360.ru . So that the child does not freeze or overheat, doctors advise to dress him according to the principle of "three layers": a base layer to remove moisture, a warming layer made of fleece or wool, and outerwear to protect him from wind and moisture. It is important to keep your head, neck, arms and legs warm, choose loose clothes and make sure that the child does not sweat before going out. It is also recommended to apply a baby winter cream on your face before a walk to protect your skin from cold and wind.
On January 7, internist Svetlana Burnatskaya said that winter walks can bring more health benefits than they seem. With reasonable and regular exposure, cold is able to support the immune system and reduce the risk of seasonal diseases, notes Pravda.Ru .
On January 4, traumatologist Alexander Sautenko, in an interview with RT, warned that frostbite most often affects the lobes of the ears and the tip of the nose. According to him, if the symptoms do not disappear after warming up or if there are redness or white areas on the skin that do not return to normal, it is necessary to consult a doctor.
