Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova commented on London's decision to revoke the accreditation of a Russian diplomat, calling this topic old.

"The topic is old, it has already been commented on, there is nothing new here," she told Izvestia.

On that day, the British Foreign Ministry announced that the British government had announced the withdrawal of accreditation from an employee of the Russian Embassy in London. It was noted that the decision was taken in response to the expulsion of a British diplomat from the kingdom's embassy in Russia.

In January, the FSB of Russia established that the second secretary of the administrative and economic department of the British diplomatic mission in Moscow, Gareth Samuel Davis, was an employee of the royal special services. The British Foreign Ministry called this decision unjustified.
