HC Torpedo beat Admiral and broke a series of three defeats
Nizhny Novgorod hockey club Torpedo beat Vladivostok Admiral in overtime on February 2 in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) regular season match with a score of 2:3.
Strikers Andrei Belevich and Egor Vinogradov scored as part of the winners. Forward Timur Mukhanov scored the winning goal in overtime.
At first, striker Dmitry Zavgorodny equalized the score for Admiral, and after 26 seconds striker Alexander Shepelev put the hosts ahead. After two periods, the score was 2-2.
The Nizhny Novgorod team scored 67 points and is in third place in the Western Conference. Admiral remains in last, 11th place in the Eastern Conference with 37 points.
On February 1, CSKA Moscow defeated SKA in a shootout in the KHL regular season match. In the shootout, Vitaly Abramov scored the decisive goal. The game ended with a score of 3:2. CSKA goalkeeper Dmitry Gamzin deflected the last attempt by Brendan Laipsik.
