The business activity Index (PMI) of Russia's manufacturing industries increased from 48.1 points to 49.4 points in January 2026. This was reported on February 2 in the S&P Global report.

According to S&P Global, the growth of the index signals a less significant reduction in production and new orders. There was also a slowdown in the decline in purchases of raw materials and work-in-progress amid signs of increased demand.

Representatives of S&P Global also noted that the growth rate of commodity prices in January was higher than before.

Two thirds of companies on January 30 reported an increase in purchase prices in January. It rose to 25% from 16.5% in December. As of January 2026, the financial situation of the majority of enterprises remained stable: 68% of companies noted no changes, 22% worsened, and 10% improved. For comparison, in December, the share of negative ratings was 27.1%.
