In Russia by the German program of voluntary return of refugees REAG/GARP (Reintegration and emigration programme for asylum-seekers in Germany/A program for returnees supported by the Government) 1,334 people returned. This is evidenced by data published on February 2 by the German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF).

According to the German newspaper Stern, the BAMF representative noted that "a significant number of refugees took the opportunity to return home," and pointed out that among the destinations of 2025, in addition to Syria and Turkey, Russia was included in the list, where 1,334 people went.

The REAG/GARP program is implemented with the participation of BAMF and provides state support for the voluntary return of migrants and refugees to their countries of origin. In particular, it includes the payment of airfare, as well as the payment of financial benefits for the first time after returning.

It is through this program that citizens are compensated for transportation costs and initial assistance is provided for adaptation after leaving Germany.

On January 28, Polish Member of the European Parliament Eva Zajonchkowska-Gernik spoke out against a possible new wave of migration of Ukrainians to Poland, referring to the forecast of the National Bank of Ukraine.
