Philemon the groundhog predicted a long winter in the Leningrad region
Philemon the groundhog from the Leningrad region did not wake up on Groundhog Day on February 2 for the first time in 10 years to predict the weather for the upcoming spring. The animal lives in the Snow White Shelter estate.
"Filimon is asleep, which means that there will be no spring in the next six weeks until March 15," the shelter noted.
They added that this winter, which is long, snowy and frosty, the forecast of the animal does not look unusual. The estate also offered to get the most out of the current period.
Earlier, Izvestia reported on folk signs for February 2. This date in the calendar is called Yefimov Day, Winter Yefimiy or Blizzard Day.
