A large-scale reorganization of the psychiatric service will be carried out in the Sverdlovsk Region, which will combine four specialized institutions into a single organization. It will be created on the basis of the Sverdlovsk Regional Clinical Psychiatric Hospital (SOKPB).
According to the <url> news agency, the initiative belongs to the chief doctors of the clinics, it was supported by the regional Ministry of Health. According to Tatyana Savinova, Deputy Governor and Minister of Health of the region, SOCPB focuses on the best clinics in Russia. It is planned to create a memory clinic for elderly patients and a mental health clinic for middle-aged working residents. It is planned to start the project this year.
Oleg Serdyuk, the chief physician of the SOCPB, in turn, said that the original idea to unite the hospitals appeared in 2009. There are no plans to reduce the number of beds or outpatient departments. Only the legal form will change in order to manage and route patients more effectively.
In 2026, 75 million rubles are planned to be allocated to improve the material and technical base.
At the same time, the drug treatment service of Yekaterinburg is being reorganized. A single institution will combine outpatient, inpatient and rehabilitation units. This, according to Anton Poddubny, the chief narcologist of the region, will be as convenient as possible for patients and doctors.
