An action to collect gifts for soldiers of the special military operation (SVO), dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day, has begun in Moscow. It will last until February 23, the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, said on his channel MAX.
Muscovites and organizations in the capital can transfer personal hygiene products, gloves, thermal underwear, confectionery, and also send postcards with good wishes. For this purpose, there are more than 50 reception points throughout the city, Sobyanin said.
"The volunteers of the capital carefully receive, pack and send everything they have collected to the military," wrote the mayor of Moscow.
Gifts are accepted in the Gift Factory pavilions at the Moscow Seasons festival grounds, Moscow Helps humanitarian aid collection headquarters, and Dobro Mesto volunteer district centers. In addition, you can transfer items and wishes at the Made in Moscow branded stores, which joined the campaign for the first time.
Earlier, Sobyanin said that the capital's schoolchildren had sent more than 30 thousand letters and postcards to their fighters, collected over 32 tons of humanitarian aid for orphanages, boarding schools in new regions and the special operation zone. The participants are also supported by students and teachers of colleges in Moscow. They sent more than 35,000 letters and over 20 tons of aid with medicines, clothing, dry rations and portable generators to the front line.
