The media reported on the possible supply of Abrams tanks to Taiwan by the United States

The United States plans to supply 28 M1A2T Abrams tanks to Taiwan's military personnel by early March. This was reported on February 2 by the Taipei Times newspaper, citing a source.

According to the publication, this delivery will be the last batch of 108 tanks worth a total of 40.5 billion Taiwan dollars ($1.28 billion) under the deal approved by Washington in 2019.

At the moment, Taiwan already has 80 tanks from the United States: Taiwan received the first delivery in December 2024, and the second at the end of October last year.

It is specified that the Taiwanese military has purchased new engines for M60A3 tanks and upgraded their fire control systems.

Experts spoke about the consequences of a potential blockade of the island.

The Agency for Security Cooperation (DSCA) announced on January 30 that the US State Department had approved the possible sale to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) of the PATRIOT Advanced Capability-3 missile system and related missiles worth about $9 billion.
