- The professor reported on NATO's forced search for a compromise in connection with the successes of the Russian Armed Forces
The rapid advance of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation forces the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO) to seek a compromise. This was announced on January 31 by Glenn Diesen, a professor at the University of Southeastern Norway.
"Russia's gradually increasing pressure <...> is forcing NATO to seek a compromise. If the front line had simply stalled, <...> NATO would not have had the slightest incentive to make any concessions. Then we would continue to see how the alliance is simply using Ukrainians to exhaust Russia," he said on his YouTube channel.
According to Diesen, NATO is becoming more active and begins to take actions to resolve the conflict only at those moments when Russia is rapidly advancing at the front in order to prevent Russian control over strategic territories.
Vladislav Maslennikov, director of the Department of European Affairs at the Russian Foreign Ministry, said on January 29 that NATO was actually preparing for a possible conflict with Russia. According to him, in the current NATO doctrinal documents, Russia is designated as "the most significant and direct threat to security," and this status remains in the long term, even in the event of a resolution of the conflict in Ukraine.
